Kyoto
京都
Kyoto rewards an unhurried traveler. Its real texture appears between famous temples: neighborhood bakeries at dawn, bicycles beside the Kamo River, quiet gardens after rain, and changing light on wooden machiya houses.
京都适合慢慢旅行。城市真正的质感藏在著名寺院之间:清晨的社区面包店、鸭川边的自行车、雨后的庭院与木町屋上的光线。

Plan around the season
When to go 什么时候去
Spring / 春季
Cherry blossoms bring beautiful color and major crowds. Reserve early and keep a quieter second-choice garden.
Summer / 夏季
June to mid-July is rainy; midsummer can exceed 35°C. Use early mornings and shaded gardens.
Autumn / 秋季
Mild weather and maple color make late autumn popular. Pair one famous site with a quieter northern district.
Winter / 冬季
Cold but calm, with quieter temples, seasonal food and the possibility of snow.

Practical notes 实用信息
- Use rail and subway for long moves; buses can be slow at peak times.
- Many sights sit beside residential streets. Keep voices low and do not block lanes.
- Two focused areas usually create a richer day than six rushed landmarks.
